Willie Revillame: Let Me Go!

One of the most controversial issues today is about Willie Revillame. Willie is the host of the famous Wowowie, a phenomenal noon time show which became so popular within just a few years of live shows.

Despite of Wowowie's popularity, its host Willie is becoming more and more unpopular to many Filipinos because of arrogance.

Current issues on Willie's case is about his request to ABS-CBN to let him go recinding his contract on his favor. Unfortunately, ABS-CBN is not stupid enough to grant his request due to the fact that Willie and the network is still bound by the contract.

On ABS-CBN's side, letting him go is just like saying, “Ok Willie, we are forgiving you without any liability. Ok na lugi kami.” But this is not the case. ABS-CBN firmly stands by its statement to hold him liable with his contract.

Furthermore, ABS-CBN has the right to do that especially that Willie is not reliable when it comes to professionality of hosting. It was not his first time to do public, televised, live, unsolicited announcement (whatever you call it). But still, the network gave him a chance until this time.

But why in the world that ABS-CBN took these preventive actions?

Willie argued that the network violated their contract in stopping Wowowie and giving him once a week recorded show.

Such action of the network is completely understandable due to the fact that Willie cannot be trusted with his statements. It will be so stupid of them to let it happen again.

But to be fair with Willie, kindly watch his controversial statements and judge it for yourselves to whether or not Willie went out of bounds hitting the network below the belt.





I certainly understand his sentiments, and obviously Jobert Sucaldito is not as well thinking of what he is writing. However, I just don't believe that Willie need to make a statement in his show. Wowowie is not a current event show, it is a noon time show.

In my opinion, Willie is not in the position of making demands, nor to threat anybody especially the network. His further appearance and damaging statements in the rival network just shows that he is a persona non grata.

I was a fan of Wowowie and of Willie when the show was just starting. I reasoned out to other people concerning Willie's sentiments. But this one is totally unbearable.

I think, ABS-CBN should not let go of Willie until his contract expires. At the same time, he should not have any more live shows. If don't want to work, so be it. As long as he cannot work with other networks.

Now, let the Filipino people decide. Do you still want Willie???
